Remember the guy that created the lightbulb?
His name was Thomas and he was a badass, but not why you’d think. You see, most people say that Thomas Edison was a revolutionist. I mean, could you argue? 150 years ago, he created one of the greatest technologies that never existed before…right?
Well not exactly. It was nearly 70 years earlier when Englishman, Humphrey Davy, demonstrated a powerful electric lamp to the Royal Society.
What Edison did was EVOLVE what Davy started.
Thomas Edison didn’t start a revolution.
He created evolution.
The difference? The letter “r”…and a perspective of life that might serve your success.
Have you ever noticed what happens when you try to suddenly change something in your life?
What happened when you decided to go to the gym everyday, eat chicken and broccoli (3x/day), and run every morning?
You probably failed. Why?
Because you tried to revolutionize your life, instead of evolve it.
Evolution is what wins. Evolving refers to the process of slow and gradual shifts overtime (vs. revolution which would be sudden and abrupt shifts.)
So what can you do with this? Well, consider one area of your life that you want to change?
Work? Love life? Money? Health? Energy?
After you choose one, think about one way that you can evolve this area that will positively support you?
For me, I’ve noticed feeling low energy in the afternoons. So I’ve committed to a 10min fast walk each morning and yoga (2x/week) in the morning.
I’m evolving this area of my life, not revolutionizing it.
Make sense? Now would you try?
Hit me back and let me know which area you’re inspired to evolve?
Before you know it, all of that evolution might very well become a revolution.
